D49
D49 is waterstruck, clinker-fired and has four equally usable sides and a rough, changing surface. It is made of red clay and has a varied play of colour in shades of red, gold, orange and brown, with touches of black and burgundy. The light-coloured areas are due to the light clay slurry added to the wet clay in the mould. The high firing temperature vitrifies parts of the D49 bricks.
